Automations have landed! We dove into Automations with an epic hype video and launch event, where we walked through exactly how you can start using Automations with your team. Watch the replay here.

So what can Automations do for you? We know data teams are juggling a ton of different tasks - and we built Secoda Automations to take repetitive, routine work off of your plate.

With Secoda Automations, you can:

📝 Keep documentation up to date and complete

Automate versioning, and create flows for automatic keyword-based tagging.

➡️ Seamlessly migrate to new tools

Automatically detect and tag resources that still need to be migrated, create deprecation warnings, and schema change alerts.

🧹 Make data clean up easy

Automate tagging data that hasn't been accessed in a specific number of days, assign users to cleanup tasks, and keep track of cleanup progress.

🤝 Help everyone at your organization understand data

Automatically tag your most popular assets across any integration, as well as verified assets to drive adoption and maintain confidence in your data.

🛡️ Expand your data governance program

Build workflows to ensure your data stays secure by automatically verifying high quality data, tagging data assets with PHI, PII and HIPPA information, and applying security classification tags based on user roles.

🎧 Women Lead Data released four new podcast episodes

Last year, we launched the Women Lead Data podcast, hosted by our Head of Data, Lindsay Murphy. With 90% of CEOs and co-founders of companies in the data industry identifying as male, and only about 3% of VC funding going to female-led companies, we felt a representational gap for women in the data industry.

Every week, Lindsay shares insights about the underrepresentation of women in data, and uncovers helpful tips and advice for what it takes to reach the C-level from the incredible guests on the show.

In January, we released:

🚀 From Data Scientist to CEO: Women Lead Data Episode 3 with Nicole Janeway Bills of Data Strategy Professionals

🌱 The story of a first-time founder: WLD Episode 4 with Sarah Nagy of Seek AI

✏️ Becoming a data content creator: WLD Episode 5 with Megan Lieu of Deepnote

🪴 Overcoming your internal barriers: WLD Episode 6 with Colleen Tartow, Ph.D. of VAST Data

Take a listen to each of these episodes on our blog. All of them are filled with stories, inspiration and insight into the career paths and lives of women who are deeply embedded in the data industry right now.

⚒️ Secoda’s January Product Updates

We entered the new year with a refreshed look for your Secoda Catalog, new notification types, a new integration, and updates to integration extraction schedules.

📘 A single, streamlined view for your Catalog

The tab view at the top of the Catalog page has been replaced by a single view that can be filtered by Resource type. See exactly what you need in a simplified interface.

🔍 Exporting Catalog views

We made exporting your data easier. You can now apply filters in the Catalog and export the specified subset of data, saving you time and effort.

Dropped table notifications

Stay up to date on your assets and be notified in Secoda as soon as a table drops with new notifications.

🔗 New Trino Integration

In January, we released a new native integration for Trino Software Foundation. Synchronize your Trino Catalogs, Schemas, Tables, Views, Columns, and more - and easily bring them right into Secoda. With our new integration, effortlessly see lineage from Tables to Views, and Table columns to View columns, giving your team a holistic understanding of your pipeline.

Schedule integrations with cron expressions

Schedule integration extractions with cron expressions to set more specific and powerful schedules.

🏖️ Our office moved from downtown Toronto to the beach

In case you missed it - we had an incredible team retreat in the Dominican Republic.

While our team is remote, we love getting together - and we had no complaints about getting together on the beach in the Dominican Republic for our semi-annual retreat!

The week was full of sun, surf, sand, team bonding, and of course, puppies 🐶

Want to join us next time? We're hiring across the board, and just posted a role for Senior Data Engineer. Get your sunscreen ready 🏝️
